Larry Wayne Davis
1949 – 2025
Larry Wayne Davis, 75, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on August 8, 2025.
Born and raised in Louisville, Larry built a life grounded in hard work, loyalty, and laughter. He spent his career in the sheet metal industry, where his skill, dedication, and work ethic earned the respect of all who worked alongside him.
A proud 101 Club member and lifelong University of Kentucky Wildcats fan, Larry could often be found in his favorite chair, cheering on his beloved team in blue and white. When the Cats played, the world stopped—at least in the Davis household.
Larry cherished simple joys: reading a good book, exploring the Smoky Mountains, and spending time with his family. His love for them was constant and unwavering. He is survived by his devoted wife, Sharon Davis; his children, Craig Davis (Angie), Marsha Keys (Glen), Melissa Thompson, Stacey Lurie (Steve), and Kelly Ellis (William); 13 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchilderen.
Though Larry will be deeply missed, his spirit will live on in the roar of Rupp Arena, the pages of a well-read novel, and every trip through the mountain trails he loved so much.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that friends honor his memory by wearing blue and cheering on the Wildcats—just as Larry would have wanted.

Sharon, so sorry to hear I know he’ll be in a better place. I used to work with and we went down to Owensboro together back years ago when Mike Thomas was alive if you remember back then but so sorry I hope you’re doing better. Hopefully, you’re around family to ease anything that comes about.
