Cheryl Yvonne McKinley-Wilson was born to the late Hannah Clark and Lawrence “Doby” Mckinley on February 4, 1951. Cheryl spent her younger years in Harlan, KY, graduated from Harlan High school, before moving to Louisville, KY, getting married and starting her family. Cheryl Worked in Management for most of her life. Most memorable at CSC oil before it became Burbank Chervon Gas station out Dutchman Lane, Bonded Speedway on Cane Run Rd, Gro-Co deli, and Rite Aid Pharmacy on Poplar Level. While she was making a living, she was also changing lives. Taking care of not only her family but anyone she encountered in need. Cheryl brought joy and put smiles on so many faces. She was the life of every party and very funny. Family meant everything to Cheryl, she demonstrated that throughout her life.  On October 19, 2024, Cheryl took her final breath at home, comfortably, surrounded by family. She would not have had it any other way.

Cheryl’s proceeded in death by her Husband John Wilson, Sister Carolyn Mckinley, and Daughter Antonia Wilson. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Jonetta (Stefan) Girton, Melinda McGoffney, Lawrence (Felicia) Wilson, Chinee (Raymond) Payne, Dallas Wilson, Antonio Wilson, Yvonne (John) Kennedy, Brittany Wilson, Chervone Wilson, and DeMarcus Page; Two Nephews, Anthony and DuWayne Mckinley; 24 Grandchildren; 18 Great Grandchildren, Great nieces and nephews, Aunts and Uncles, cousins, countless numbers of other family, and friends.

A memorial service honoring Cheryl’s life will be held Saturday November 9, 2024, at Sweet Leaf Primitive Baptist Church, 1254 Dixie Highway Louisville, KY 40210 from 2pm- 5pm.
